About the role
This is a senior, hands-on role. If your experience is mostly theoretical or limited to basic AI tool usage, this is not a fit.
About us
We're a B2B SaaS company with a 35–40 person engineering team, currently rebuilding our platform from v5 to v6. We've been using Cursor aggressively for the past several months and the team has adopted it well.
Here's my problem: our CTO estimates we're ~60–70% more productive with AI. I keep hearing about teams getting 5–10x. I'm a non-technical founder with an accounting background — I want to know, in numbers, what's between us and that. And I want someone who'll tell me honestly.
We just need help operationalizing what we're learning, and we need someone external who'll push us harder than we're pushing ourselves. The team isn't resisting AI — they're just not seeking the next thing on their own. I want someone who'll tell me "you're not doing enough" without me having to ask.
What we need you to do
Audit how our team is actually using Cursor and AI coding tools day-to-day — not what they say they do, what's actually happening
Review our development processes end-to-end: tickets, PRs, QA, DevOps, agent workflows
Define real engineering velocity metrics for an AI-first environment, so I can see month-over-month progress
Identify where AI is underutilized or misused
Recommend specific changes to processes, tooling, and team structure
Evaluate whether our current org structure actually supports AI-first development
Optionally, help implement improvements alongside our CTO and AI lead
Important context
Our engineering team is fully remote and based in India. Clear communication and cultural fit with the team is critical.
Ideal candidates either speak Hindi, or have strong experience working with India-based engineering teams.
We're committed to Cursor for now. Not looking to rip and replace, but happy to hear "this specific thing would be better in X."
We're mid-rebuild, so any process changes have to fit a team that's heads-down on a major project.
Ideal background
You have hands-on senior or staff engineering experience and you use modern AI coding tools every day — Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, agentic workflows. You've helped engineering teams shift how they work, not just talked about it.
Bonus if you've built or implemented:
Ticket-to-PR workflows
AI-assisted PR generation and code review
Agent-based or multi-agent development processes
Internal AI engineering playbooks
Developer productivity dashboards or velocity tracking
Engagement
Step 1: A 30-min kickoff with our CTO and AI lead to scope properly
Step 2: A 2–4 week diagnostic engagement with a written assessment and concrete recommendations
Step 3 (optional): Ongoing advisory or implementation support if it's a fit on both sides
Open to hourly or fixed-fee. Tell me what you'd recommend and why.
What success looks like
A clear, honest assessment of where we stand today
The specific bottlenecks slowing us down, named
Practical, prioritized recommendations to increase speed and output
Metrics I can use to measure AI-driven engineering productivity going forward
A roadmap to become a genuinely AI-first engineering organization
Generic AI-generated proposals will be ignored. I'm looking for someone who actually does this work.
