About the role


Join Cherry Bekaert, a leader in elite accounting and advisory services, as we continue to excel in our International Tax Practice. We are looking for a dedicated Global Tax Associate to enhance our team.

As part of our international tax team, you will deliver essential services that assist businesses in navigating global competition and adhering to U.S. international tax regulations and reporting requirements.

The Global Tax Associate will specialize in various aspects of international tax, focusing on compliance and reporting projects. You'll determine taxpayer eligibility for international tax elections and exceptions, such as the GILTI high tax exception, conduct quantitative modeling, and perform foreign tax credit analysis.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating in a team environment to support managers and partners on client tax matters.
  • Reviewing tax preparation work executed by our offshore team.
  • Offering expert tax compliance guidance, including the preparation of U.S. international tax forms such as 5471, 8992, 8865, 8858, 1042, 8802, K-2 and K-3, and 8833.
  • Calculating E&P, Section 987 foreign exchange gains and losses, GILTI, expense apportionment and allocation, ECI, Subpart F and recapture, and Section 962.
  • Managing budgets effectively.
  • Building strong relationships and maintaining clear communication with clients and internal teams to deliver superior client service.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Preferred 1 year of progressive international tax compliance and/or consulting experience with a public accounting firm, law firm, or large corporate tax department.
  • Strong technical tax and accounting skills.
  • Familiarity with ProSystem fx, CCH, RIA, and/or Engagement is a plus.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational capabilities.
  • Superior analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Benefits Overview:

Cherry Bekaert values its people and offers competitive compensation packages based on performance, recognizing the contributions of our team members. The salary range for this position is $88,900-$128,400. Individual salaries are determined by various factors, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, education, skills, and location.
