About the role


Immigration Paralegal Bilingual Spanish/English in busy Immigration, Plaintiffs' Personal Injury and Workers' Compensation practice.

Responsibilities

The Law Office of Marc J. Reiter is looking to add a Full-Time bilingual (Spanish/English) paralegal to join our legal team. The firm concentrates in Immigration, Personal Injury, and Workers' Compensation law representing people in immigration case and people who have been injured in all types of accidents. The majority of the Workers' Compensation cases are Spanish speaking clients employed in construction, roofing, painting, flooring and related professions. The job includes primarily working on Immigration cases but also will have exposure to Personal Injury and Workers' Compensation cases.

  • As to Immigration cases, duties include assisting with intakes, opening files, communicating with clients, preparing forms and supporting evidence for USCIS petitions, preparing and filing evidence and pleadings with EOIR (Immigration Court), and other related duties. The immigration cases are primarily Removal Proceedings Cases, Family Based Petitions, Asylum, Vawa, SIJS, U Visas, 601A Waiver Requests, Adjustment of Status and Citizenship.
  • As to injury cases, duties may include assisting with intakes, opening files communicating with clients, ordering and indexing medical records, assisting with all aspects of discovery and pleadings, filing with court and on WCAIS, and other related duties.
  • Assisting the attorney with Spanish to English interpretation during client meetings and intakes.
  • At least 4 years experience as an immigration paralegal required. Previous experience in personal injury/workers compensation is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certificate strongly preferred.. * Salary commensurate with experience and is competitive.
  • Prior experience in Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury preferred but not required.
  • Must be bilingual (Spanish-English); functionally fluent in speaking, reading and writing both in Spanish and in English.
  • Training will be provided.

Qualifications

At least 3-5 years experience as an Immigration Paralegal handling the types of case referenced in the "Responsibilities" section above. Must be bilingual Spanish/English. The paralegal must have strong organizational skills and have strong attention to detail. Strong writing skills are required. A paralegal certificate and/or bachelor degree is strongly preferred
