Budget Analyst Support USPS Engineering Projects Merrifield, VA MBA Consulting Services, Inc. (MBA CSi) is hiring a Budget Analyst to support U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Technology Aquisition Management group in Merrifield, VA. This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting support, and data driven insights. The role combines traditional financial analysis with modern data visualization and automation tools to improve transparency, forecasting accuracy, and decision making across TAM programs. You'll work directly with project managers and contracting teams to track budgets, analyze costs, and ensure compliance with federal financial requirements helping keep large-scale USPS initiatives on schedule and within budget. Work Schedule: Initial on-site presence required for onboarding and ramp-up, with 1 day of telework per week once established. Key Responsibilities Track and monitor project budgets, labor costs, travel, and expenditures Reconcile budgets across project management, finance, and contracting teams Prepare and deliver budget reports, financial summaries, and presentations Capture meeting notes, action items, and follow-ups to support project execution Support project planning and financial forecasting activities Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost control Ensure compliance with federal budgeting, reporting, and audit requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field 34 years of experience in budget analysis, accounting, or project financial support Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Experience supporting federal agencies or government contractors (preferred) High attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Willingness to work flexible hours or travel as required Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting federal contracting or government-funded projects Knowledge of federal budget compliance and reporting standards Proven ability to support multiple projects simultaneously Analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and accuracy Why MBA Consulting Services?
