JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you considering transitioning from your current role as a Paralegal to becoming a Digital Reporter? As a Paralegal - Digital Reporter ("DR"), your primary responsibility would involve overseeing civil litigation proceedings and capturing all content, including witness testimony, using digital tools.

The Digital Reporter is responsible for:

  • Overseeing proceedings as an unbiased custodian of the record.
  • Administering oaths to witnesses and carrying out responsibilities as a State Notary.
  • Utilizing advanced audio technology to accurately record proceedings.
  • Accurately annotating case events and terminology for precise transcription.
  • Performing thorough research and validating information from diverse sources.
  • Proficiently utilizing digital databases and online research tools.

REQUIREMENTS

  • State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain certification/state licensure (in required states)
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, U.S. civil proceedings
  • Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment
  • Confidence to moderate live legal proceedings
  • Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing
  • Proficient with technology, including strong keyboard skills
  • Professional demeanor, reliability, punctuality, and presentability
  • Willingness to work as an independent contractor
  • Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required
  • Willing to work both remotely and in person.
